Mellon Independence Center Up for Sale

NEW YORK CITY-Most of the 811,182-sf building, which is 99% leased, is occupied by Mellon Bank. The class-A facility earned a National Preservation Honor Award after if was renovated.

NEW YORK CITY-Mellon Independence Center, a class A office and retail complex on Philadelphia’s Market Street, has been put on the market by the Brickstone Cos. The former site of the Lit Brothers department store, the property was acquired in the 1980s and renovated into the facility it is today. That rehab earned it the National Preservation Honor Award by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
