The plan covers the approximately 22-acre Village Core, which comprises San Lorenzo Plaza, San Lorenzo Village Square, the San Lorenzo Village Homes Association's quarters, and the area's Theater Block. Also included in the plan are two additional parcels: a tool-rental yard straddling Hesperian Boulevard north of the Village Core, and a self-storage facility in the same area.
The Specific Plan envisions mixed-use buildings combining ground-floor retail with residential units on top floors, including a possible combination of an Albertson's supermarket with top-floor residential. Also on tap are improved public services such as a new fire station and improved library and post office. The San Lorenzo Village Homes Association will discuss the plan at a meeting next month.
The area is situated in the north part of San Lorenzo at the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Paseo Grande. The San Lorenzo Village Center Specific Plan describes the area as "the economic, commercial, and cultural center of the community."
