Minnesota-Based Opus Northwest Moving Into K.C.'s Northland

PLATTE COUNTY, MO-Opus Northwest's Congress Corporate Center would attract data and call center type businesses. The first spec building will be a 90,000-sf to 120,000-sf office/warehouse.

PLATTE COUNTY, MO-The Northland area is getting a much needed boost in the way of commercial and industrial development. Opus Northwest has announced plans to apply for zoning and building permits for a project to be located near Kansas City International Airport.

The 156-acre development will be called Congress Corporate Center and is expected to attract data and call center type businesses. Construction is being done on a speculative basis. Later this year, construction will begin on the first building, a 90,000-sf to 120,000-sf office/warehouse structure at 112th Street and Congress Avenue. It is expected to be ready for occupancy by spring of next year.

An Opus company official said that talks are continuing with two prospective tenants to construct build-to-suit structures in Congress Corporate Center. One space would be a warehouse, with the other being a high tech building.
