The Altamonte Springs, FL-based general contractor is starting the year with an enviable work backlog of $12 million compared with a backlog of $6.5 million in January 2000. The suburban Orlando firm also hopes to be taking on jobs this year in Cleveland, Nashville, Texas and California.

The company is so confident the market will remain buoyant, it is going ahead with construction plans on a new headquarters building in south Orlando and plans to occupy the structure by year end.

"We are currently optimistic that we can achieve a business volume in the $30 million to $32 million range during 2001," company founder/president J. Michael Pertree tells GlobeSt.com.
