The Woodlands is a 27,000-acre, master-planned community in Houston's northern suburbs. Chevron Phillips has purchased eight acres located at the corner of Timberloch Place and Six Pines Drive from the Woodlands Operating Co. LP for the project.
This headquarters building bring a consolidation of 570 Chevron Phillips employees now working in offices in downtown Houston, Clear Lake City and Oklahoma. Chevron Phillips president and CEO, Jim Gallogly says of the decision, "We took into account lifestyle issues such as commuting time, the large and diverse housing market, proximity to airports and access to nearby business hotels, shopping amenities and an ample labor market." says Jim Gallogly, Phillips president and CEO. "The north suburban location offers a good balance between work and life outside of work."
Sales director Dan Leverett has represented The Woodlands and Arlen D. Allison, manager of real estate and property tax services for Chevron Phillips, has acted in the company's behalf. The project breaks ground this spring and is scheduled for completion August 2002. The architect on the project is St. Louis-based Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK) Inc. is the architect and Houston's Dienna Nelson Augustine Co. will act as developer.
