Minnesotans For Major League Baseball, a diverse group of citizenscommissioned by the team, emphasized the Twins are a significant community asset and provide substantial economic benefits. It also concludes the Metrodome's lack of quality seats and fan amenities limits the team's future.
Of 30 major-league teams, 18 are playing in or will play in new or renovated ballparks by 2003, with team contributions averaging 37 percent of those costs and the public's share averaging 58 percent, the study says.
