The local firm is shooting for 1,000 sales in 2001. "No Central Florida home builder has ever eclipsed the 1,000 sales mark in a single season," Centex sales/marketing director Joel Deines tells GlobeSt.com. "We have been able to increase our sales figures across the board each year and hopefully, we'll reach the 1,000 plateau this year."
Centex revenue reached a record $174.6 million, or an average $190,579 per unit on the 916 sales. The numbers represent modest gains of 3% on the 816 units and 13% over the $154.9 million volume posted in 1999.
Compared to three years ago, the 2000 performance was 32% ahead in units sold (696) and 59% over the revenue level ($109.9 million).
Centex's performance last year was triggered largely by 156 fourth-quarter sales of $29.8 million, or an average $191,026 per unit. Three key communities alone combined for 82 sales totaling $14.7 million. They were Hampton Lakes near Walt Disney World, Parkstone in suburban Winter Springs, FL and Skyridge Valley in Clermont, FL, developed by Fox & Jacobs, a Centex/Orlando affiliate.
Hampton Lakes, marketed specifically for the international second-home buyer, led all Centex communites with volume of $5.9 million on 30 sales for an average $196,667 per unit. Parkstone was second with $5.8 million on 32 sales for an average $181,250 per unit.
