Richard A. Ringer, director of real estate development, represented Hunt Midwest in all the transactions.
Two parcels were sold in the Hunt Midwest Business Park located near Interstate 435 and Parvin Road. Knapheide Manufacturing Inc. bought 9.5 acres and will complete work on a 40,000-sf facility by the end of the year. The company installs flatbeds, bodies and other equipment onto trucks. Knapheide was founded in 1848 and is based in Quincy, IL. Robbie Harris, general manager, represented Knapheide in the transaction.
Also in the Hunt Midwest Business Park, the Waffle House Co. bought one acre to build a franchise restaurant. Waffle House has more than 1,000 restaurants, located primarily in the Midwest, South and Southwest. Jess Davis of Fishman & Co. represented Waffle House.
In the Great Midwest Commerce Center, also located near Interstate 435 and Parvin Road, two properties were sold. Again, a restaurant purchased land, as Wendy's bought one acre for construction of a 3,000-sf eatery scheduled to be opened by mid-summer. David Hickman of CB Richard Ellis and Jeff Berg, formerly with CB Richard Ellis, represented Wendy's.
Cintas Corp. purchased 6.5 acres in the Commerce Center where it will build a 53,000-sf uniform rental facility and move its operations, including about 100 employees, from 17th and Cherry streets in Downtown Kansas City. John Chen represented Cintas.
Land was also sold in the Hunt Midwest North Brighton Commerce Center at Missouri Highway 152 and North Brighton Avenue. The US Postal Service bought 4.2 acres and will build an 18,500-sf carrier annex. When it is completed early next year, the facility will house 55 carriers and support personnel who will transfer from the Brighton Avenue and Vivion Road location.
