Lincicome, who lives in Washington, DC, has been with Ellerbe Becket for more than 20 years. He has been president since 1998, and was head of architecture and of the firm's Washington, DC and New York offices before that. A graduate of the University of Illinois architecture school, Lincicome later taught architecture there. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Greater Washington, DC Board of Trade.

Lincicome will focus on improving the firm's reputation among clients for "high design and high value."

"We have the individual creativity and innovating mindset well in hand," he says. "What I believe we need to emphasize today is... creative collaboration across all disciplines."

Board chair Steven Sjoblad, a former partner at Fallon, the Minneapolis-based advertising agency, says he thinks "the new leadership will infuse an even greater sense of creativity and innovation into the firm's offerings."

The company has projects underway on nearly every continent and is well known for its expertise in hospitals and ambulatory clinics, sports stadiums and arenas, central heating and cooling plants and mission-critical facilities that ensure 24/7 reliability for e-commerce companies.

Degenhardt, who has served as CEO since 1994, saiys he will focus on the firm's future five years from now and beyond, and will focus on long-range strategic planning and building Ellerbe Becket's brand name.
