Starwood Sells Interest in One Washington Circle Hotel to George Washington University

WASHINGTON, DC-George Washington University is purchasing the 151-room One Washington Circle Hotel for an undisclosed amount, according to information released today, Jan. 29. This is the university's second hotel.

WASHINGTON, DC-A local university is buying part of a 151-room hotel here. George Washington University is purchasing Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.’s interest in the 151-room One Washington Circle Hotel for an undisclosed amount, according to Starwood. The university will maintain the status of the property as a hotel for investment purposes.

“This is an important investment opportunity for the university, one that will allow us to generate revenue to continue to support our educational mission,” GW president Stephen Joel Trachtenberg is reported as saying.
