Report Shows Employment Growth in Local High Tech Despite Slowdown

SAN DIEGO-More than half the local companies anticipate beefing up employment during 2001--many of those polled are involved in high-tech fields.

SAN DIEGO-A new report shows that 54% of local firms expect to beef up employment during 2001, many of them in the high-tech fields.

The San Diego Workforce Partnership says the number is an improvement over last year, when 48% of firms polled said they intended to add more jobs, according to the partnership’s annual Occupational Outlook Report.
