EL CERRITO, CA-JMS Development Corp. is in design review for redevelopment of the former El Cerrito Mill and Lumber Co. site, located 15 miles east of San Francisco across the Bay Bridge. The company is proposing a mixed-use project on the 4.2-acre site that would include 162 apartment units, 6,881 sf of ground-level retail and 240 parking spaces.

The mixed-use project would consist of six buildings at a maximum three-story height on a 4.2-acre site on San Pablo Avenue and Schmidt Lane. The proposal still needs approval from the City Council, Planning Commission and the Design Review Board. The Design Review Board has requested a traffic study to be conducted. Another meeting is scheduled for in the next week or so.
