A National Energy Policy Tops BOMA's Legislative Targets List

WASHINGTON, DC-A national energy policy tops the list of legislative issues from the Building Owners and Managers Association, according to the organization’s government affairs director, Gerry Lederer. The organization’s government affairs committee named its top three areas of concerns during the final days of the BOMA International Convention here on Jan. 29 and 30. Mandated telecommunications access and tax relief for leaseholders followed closely behind the energy policy, Lederer said.

The organization is calling upon the federal government to “enact a national energy policy which ensures all consumers have access to adequate supplies of reasonably priced energy by addressing the energy challenge from both the demand and supply perspective,” Lederer says.

The federal government must implement a national policy that guarantees access at a reasonable price. BOMA is calling upon the government to address the supply side of the issue while this organization supports the demand side, Lederer says.
