The center concept was introduced four years ago and IBM is opening centers both nationally and internationally. The centers are part of IBM's $9.7 billion consulting business which is a division of IBM Global Services, an information technology services provider. Last year, IBM's Global Services had $33.2 billion in revenue and 150,000 employees in 160 countries.
The Boston center has marketing and branding strategists, business consultants, designers, developers, architects and integration experts and will focus on e-business solutions for its clients. Facilities at the center include interactive devices, collaborative space, smart boards and video conferencing. In its startup phase, the center here worked on projects for clients in financial services, insurance, retail, manufacturing and education. One of its clients was Foxwoods Resort Casino.
