The latest deal was announced earlier today. MMC Inc., a human resources company that specializes in the health-care industry, says that it paid $5.2 million for a 21,730-sf office building at 8150 Beverly Blvd. in the Park La Brea area.
MMC bought the building from Salick Health Care, a subsidiary of London-based conglomerate AstraZeneca PLC. David Lachoff and Kathleen Silver of Grubb & Ellis' West LA office represented the seller. The buyer was represented by Thomas Patriarca, who also works in Grubb & Ellis' Westside office, and Yasmine Kashani of ReMax.
The deal was just the latest in a string of relatively small, "bread-and-butter" transactions that can keep brokers busy when times are a bit slow. Earlier in the week, Adler Realty Advisors Inc. paid nearly $9 million for a 58,183-sf office complex in Woodland Hills to use as its new corporate headquarters.
Also this week, a fully leased, 65,000-sf medical office building in the 11400 block of Brookshire Ave. was purchased by a private partnership for $7.7 million.
