FAA Provides $22 Mil for Smaller Michigan Airports

DETROIT-Seventy-six community airports in the state will split $22 million. Most of the airports will get for $150,000 to extend and repair runways, acquire land for noise abatement and meet environmental concerns.

DETROIT-The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded a block grant totaling more than $22 million to the state of Michigan for various airport development projects at 76 smaller commercial airports and general aviation airports across the state. Small airports will be able to extend and repair runways, acquire land for noise abatement and meet environmental concerns.

Most of the sites will receive a grant of $150,000, with some airports receiving more for priority projects. The list of airports includes Ann Arbor Municipal Airport, Willow RunAirport in Detroit, Oakland County International in Pontiac and the Troy-Oakland Airport.
