David M. Dean, a six-year senior vice president, will assume the law and administration executive VP role while Jane Mody has come on board for the capital markets position.

Crescent's John Goff, vice chairman and CEO, says Dean "has been involved in every significant transaction that has taken place" in the past six years. Dean previously had served as assistant general counsel for Burlington Northern Inc., where he had been responsible for the majority of the company's transactional and general corporate legal work. His experience also includes stints with Kelly, Hart & Hallman and Jackson & Walke LLP, where he had worked on acquisition, financing and venture capital transactions for Richard Rainwater and related investor groups.

Mody, who joins Crescent Feb. 20, is a prior VP for Goldman Sachs & Co.'s real estate merchant banking division and Whitehall's nine real estate opportunity funds. A 20-year veteran of real estate capital markets, she also had spent six years as managing director of Pacific Retail Trust, a $1.5-billion REIT that she had co-founded. Her experience also includes VP stints at Rosewood Property Co. and Interfirst Bank-Dallas.
