Edwards Starting Year with $23 Mil in New Work

ORLANDO-Edwards Construction Services Inc. is off to a brisk start in 2001. The Ocala, FL-based general contractor has completed the second 55,000-sf, $1.92 million office phase of the Discovery Lakes complex at Orlando’s Central Florida Research Park. The contractor also picked up two additional contracts, including a $7.5 million job to build a 53,600-sf clubhouse at the championship Golden Ocala Golf and Country Club, 80 miles northwest of Downtown Orlando.

Edwards also won a $14.3 million contract to build Avalon Town Center at the mixed-use Avalon community in east Orange County. The 211,000-sf center will comprise 14 townhouse buildings totaling 74 units and a four-story structure with 48 apartments on the upper three floors and ground-floor retail.
