Thompson Nutritional Technology Plant, Land Sold at Bankruptcy Auction

KANSAS CITY, KS-Midwest Grain Products, the only bidder, pays $6.5 million for the 80,000-sf plant and 13-acre site. Ralston Purina Co. and Hills Co., were present at the auction but did not make bids.

KANSAS CITY, KS-Midwest Grain Products Inc. has purchased the Thompson Nutritional Technology manufacturing plant for $6.5 million. The plant and 13 acres were sold at auction in barnkruptcy court.

The plant has 80,000 sf of production facility. A Thompson Nutritional Technology representative said that more than $20 million had been invested in the plant.

Two other pet food manufacturers, Ralston Purina Co. and Hills Co., were present at the auction, but only Midwest Grain Products submitted a bid. A Thompson Nutritional Technology representative said that more than $20 million had been invested in the plant.
