The deal brings eLink into the Boston market, which, despite its status as one of the hottest technology markets in the country, "is largely underserved by the broadband providers," said Michael Sloan in a released statement. "eLink is poised to make an immediate impact." The largest part of the deal is wiring the Cummings Center complex , a mixed-use development in Beverly with 1.7 million sf of space.
eLink will install a gigabit-ready fiber-optic infrastructure into each building, providing tenants with access to a communications package that includes high-speed internet access, networking and internet and business applications. Each building will also have access to a technical specialist who will be able to provide tenants with network design and support services.
Woburn-based Cummings Properties is a commercial real estate development and property management firm. The company operates eight million sf of commercial space in the Greater Boston area.
