Transit Board Votes to Fund Study of Possible Monorail System

SAN DIEGO-A board that oversees the city's trolley and bus system has bvoted to pay for a study of a monorail that would run between Old Town and the beach communities.

SAN DIEGO—A board that oversees the city’s trolley and bus system has voted to pay for a study of a monorail that would run between Old Town and the beach communities.

The Metropolitan Transit Development Board allocated $350,000 to study the idea, aimed at helping ease congestion in Mission and Pacificbeachs. The loop would start at the Old Town Transit Center and run to stations at Rosecrans Avenue, the Sports Arena, West Point LomaBoulevard, SeaWorld, Quivira Basin and Belmont Park in Mission Beach.
