The building will be able to provide the range of EMS facilities from concept and design to printed circuit board assembly, close tolerance enclosures and cable and harness interconnect assemblies. It is located on Route 495, which Bruce Mann, vice president of investor relations and corporate communications for SMTC, tells GlobeSt.com, was chosen because of its large concentration of high tech companies. Whereas Route 128 was once the address high tech companies, Route 495 is increasingly becoming an alternative location for these companies.
"There was significant and growing demand from existing and new customers in the New England area," explains Mann. The company entered the Boston area a year and a half ago with its acquisition of FW Wood.
