Edgewater Automation To Begin Operations In St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, MI-The company chooses Michigan over sites in Ohio and Illinois to begin start-up machine manufacturing facility. The company is also receiving a rent subsidy, training and assistance with start-up costs.

ST. JOSEPH, MI-Edgewater Automation, LLC will begin operations here with help from a Michigan Economic Development Corporation incentive package. Edgewater Automation selected St. Joseph over sites in Ohio and Illinois for the new start-up facility.

The company will invest $784,000 in the project, including lease costs, machinery and equipment. Edgewater earned a five-year, $238,000 tax incentive package from the state.The company is also receiving assistance from Cornerstone Alliance, including a rent subsidy, training and assistance with start-up costs. It is estimated value of Cornerstone’s commitment is about $25,000 over a three-year period.

It is estimated that a 40,000-sf building lease in the city’s Renaissance Zone will create 110 new jobs, 46 directly by the company, for Michigan workers.
