Jim Anthony, a principal in Anthony Allenton Commercial Real Estate, is asking the city for a green light to break ground on the project, according to a published article. Construction industry estimators tell GlobeSt.com the total hard construction cost of the venture, Lakeview Park, could come in at about $100 million.

The park would comprise 800,000 sf of office, 50,000 sf of retail and an undetermined number of for-sale or for-rent residential structures. Anthony needs the zoning changed from apartment and retail to mixed-use.

The site currently houses a 50-year-old building, a 62,000-sf nursing home, 13 residential units and a single-family home. Anthony plans to demolish the building, convert the nursing home into medical office space and sell the residential components, according to the article.

If the Lakeview Park project is approved, it would become the second large office project being planned in the area. Last year, the VA Medical Center was given permission to expand, a development that would include six buildings, 650,000 sf of offices, lab space, hotels, restaurants and shops.
