The Houston-based Weingarten has been developing properties in the Lake Charles region since 1954. The latest undertaking will be anchored by a 125,000-sf Target and feature three junior anchor stores, a maximum of six pad sites and specialty and service-oriented space. Located on 37.9 acres, the project carries a 2002 completion. Dallas-based Calloway Architects is designing the center, with Mapp Construction Co. snagging the site work contract. Baton Rouge's SJB Group is the project engineer.
