Cornerstone Commercial Dissolves; Executives Join Staubach

DALLAS-The Staubach Co. has drafted two well-known tenant reps, Clay Smith and Mark Newman, for its retail division. The move spells the dissolution of Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate, founded in 1988, and a beefing up of Staubach's Dallas-Ft. Worth presence.

DALLAS-After nearly 13 years of wheeling and dealing as Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate, the founder and his point man are closing up shop and joining the Staubach Co.’s retail team. GlobeSt.com has confirmed the appointments of Clay Smith as vice president and Mark Newman as senior associate spell the dissolution of Cornerstone Commercial, founded in 1988 by Smith. The duo will focus on advisory services for regional and national retail users in the southwest in a move to beef up Staubach’s presence, specifically in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.

“Mark and Clay are very well known in this industry and have extensive experience in retail tenant representation. It is always thrilling when you have associates of this caliber join your team,” says Scott Riddles, executive vice president of Staubach Retail Services.
