10 Bugle Boy Stores Close in Michigan

DETROIT-Bankruptcy even closes the Simi Valley, CA-based company's Birch Run, MI store. The area is known as one of the country's most popular shopping plazas.

DETROIT-Bankruptcy is closing 10 of Michigan’s Bugle Boy stores out of 215 nationwide. The stores are located in Birch Run, Detroit, Burton, Holland, Monroe, West Branch, Howell, Lansing, Bay City, and Midland.

Michigan was one of the company’s largest markets. Bugle Boy Industries Inc., based in Simi Valley, CA, started the process of closing the stores after the US Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles last week approved a three-company partnership to conduct store-closing sales. The company, a fashion powerhouse in the 1980s that first made a name for itself through its balloon-like parachute pants, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Feb. 1.
