PHOENIX-The Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix will begin construction in June on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, a 29-acre project at the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Sweetwater in north Scottsdale. The $25-million project will have a 114,000-sf main campus office building that will house offices for the Jewish Federation, Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center, Bureau of Jewish Education, Council for Jews with Special Needs and satellite classrooms for the Phoenix Hebrew Academy. Future developments on the site include Jewish elementary and high schools.

The project, which is expected to be completed in August 2002, received approval from Scottsdale’s Development Review Board in December. The 29-acre parcel was donated by local businessman Bill Levine in memory of his wife, Ina.

The Jewish Community Campus will be moved from its current location at 40th Street and Shea in northeast Phoenix when the new campus is completed.
