SGI Global Includes Houston in Three-City Expansion Plan

HOUSTON-SGI Global, based in Saudi Arabia, has signed for a spot at Houston's 3 Riverway while making plans to negotiate for added space. It's a two-fold decision: Houston's energy industries and real estate development prospects.

HOUSTON-SGI Global, an international design and construction firm, has picked Houston, New York City and northern Virginia for its US inroads. The Saudi Arabian-based company is taking 7,500 sf at 3 Riverway, specifically to house the company’s petrochemical oil and gas engineering division. Khalid Al Shariff, SGI Global’s CEO, tells GlobeSt.com that company representatives will be meeting with local real estate professionals in the near future to initiate talks for additional Houston space.

Shariff says Houston is considered a strategic inroad to the US market because of its ties to the oil and gas industry. But SGI Global isn’t all about energy, Shariff tells GlobeSt.com. It also has a strong background in urban infrastructure and industrial development. That expertise will lead to local projects, he says.
