The facility, located at 4130 La Jolla Village Dr., has approximately 12,000 sf and includes four operating rooms equipped for orthopaedic and spinal procedures. NHS has partnered with about 30 local physicians to provide services at the center.
In announcing the opening of the facility, John G. Rex-Waller, NSH chairman and president/CEO, says the center offers "the convenience and non-institutional setting that patients prefer. We believe that our approach to business, which relies on a high degree of collaboration and involvement between the company and community physicians in designing, developing and operating new centers, helps ensure that our facilities meet the needs of all constituencies from the outset," he adds.
NHS signed a 10-year on the building at $2 per sf, according to Scott Leggett, the center's executive director, who notes that his company did extensive renovations and holds a 40-year option.
NHS owns and operates other similar facilities in Utah, Texas, Arizona and California.
