According to a released statement Cubist Pharmaceuticals, which was represented by Grubb & Ellis, has been searching for a location for three years. The company chose this site because it allows for expansion as the company grows and it offers lab space in a suburban location, a combination that is difficult to find. The campus setting is located on 12 acres off Route 2 here.

"This fits our needs perfectly," Jennifer LaVin, senior director of corporate communications for Cubist, tells GlobeSt.com. "We needed more lab space and this has an established three-story lab building. So we don't have to modify it."

Cubist's recent acquisition of TerraGen Discovery Inc. provided it with a foothold in England and Cubist plans on relocating a facility there also. The company also has operations in Vancouver, BC, Canada and Slough, UK.
