Duke-Weeks to Construct 128,000-SF Build-to-Suit in Eagan

EAGAN, MN-EGL Eagle Global Logistics, LP will be the new tenant at Eagan Pointe

EAGAN, MN-Duke-Weeks Realty Corp. says it is developing a 128,000-sf build-to-suit project in this Minneapolis suburb for a growing freight forwarder and logistics service provider. EGL Eagle Global Logistics, LP will relocate to the first phase of Eagan Pointe Business Center.

The firm now leases a little less than 58,000 sf at a nearby Duke-Weeks building. The new facility will be built on 6.32 acres at 3169 Dodd Road. The pre-cast concrete building will feature 110,000 sf of warehouse space, 18,000 sf of office space, 24-foot, clear-height ceilings, 25 dock doors and two drive-in doors.

Construction will begin in May 2001, with completion set for October. EGL has signed a 10-year lease to occupy 100% of the building. EGL works with Duke-Weeks in five markets, in part due to the firm’s “willingness to be flexible,” says Diane Deaton, a corporate real estate consultant for EGL Eagle Global Logistics. The other markets are in Nashville, Jacksonville, St. Louis, and Indianapolis.
