California Family Fitness is leasing the existing 22,311 sf military health club located on the base. The fitness company, expected to move in early next month, will make tenant improvements of $800,000 to $1 million, according to company sources.

The California Department of Transportation also has agreed to lease 47,000 sf to house a training center for its crews. Flight Materials, an airplane maintenance company, will lease 19,000 sf of hangar space, and the State Technical Institute will lease 22,924 sf for its trade school.

The four transactions, which still need final approval from the county Board of Supervisors, bring the total number of deals to 36. More than 1.5 million sf of space – most of it industrial – has been leased in the McClellan Park during the past 12 months. In all, the park is comprised of more than 10 million sf.

The developer is McClellan Park LLC, a group spearheaded by Stanford Ranch developer Larry Kelley. The base will be transferred to the county when it officially closes in July. The county will lease the property to Kelley's group while the government continues its clean-up efforts. Ultimately, McClellan Park LLC will purchase the non-airport portion of the business park.
