Farmland Industries Purchases Interest in Colorado Bakery

KANSAS CITY-Gerard's Bakery will continue operations from a site in Longmont, CO after being partially sold to Farmland and Mountain View Harvest Cooperative.

KANSAS CITY-Farmland Industries Inc., a farmer’s cooperative based here, has purchased an interest in a bakery located in Longmont, CO. Farmland and Mountain View Harvest Cooperative have created United Bakeries International, which bought a percentage of Gerard’s Bakery in Longmont.

Financial terms or the percentage purchased were not disclosed. Gerard’s will continue operations from its Colorado bakery, located just north of Denver. The company sells its bread products to restaurants and hotels in more than 40 states.
