Hobby Lobby has entered a number of markets in the Midwest and Southeast by moving into empty big-box space. This is the sixth former HQ store the company has leased. The retailer has also taken space in about 50 former Wal-Mart buildings. The 28-year old chain, which currently has about 250 stores, has been opening 20 to 25 outlets annually since 1990.
