The new headquarters, which had to be renovated in two phases, will include: a global operations center that will manage and monitor the company's global data storage network; an executive briefing center that will be used for meetings and will include conference rooms and audiovisual equipment; and research and development laboratories. The first phase, which totaled 30,000 sf, was completed this fall and the second phase will be completed by this April.
Nicole Gorman, director of corporate communications for the company, did not return calls by presstime but she has said that the company has seen tremendous growth since it was founded three years ago. StorageNetworks now has 550 employees in offices in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Texas and Washington State. Overseas the company has offices in England, Australia and Germany. More than half of the company's employees are located here.
