The maker of software that identifies and routes calls will move 300 workers from its current San Francisco site, where it leases 82,500 sf at 1155 Market St. to the South San Francisco location next year.
Genesys officials chose the South San Francisco campus because of its close proximity to BART and hotels. The company, represented by Andie Katter and Bethany Young of GVA Beitler Commercial Realty Services, opted to leave the City because of escalating rents. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
In a joint venture with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, Dallas-based Hines will begin to develop the project on 20-acres this spring. The 600,000 sf development will consist of three buildings ranging from seven to nine stories tall, near Highway 101 and Oyster Point Boulevard. The buildings will feature two-story lobbies, floor-to-ceiling glass and a state-of-the-art under-floor HVAC and communications distribution system to allow for individually controlled work environments. The development will include a 350-room Marriott Hotel.
