Robinson resigned from Duke-Weeks three weeks ago. He is a former president of the REIT and was with the company since its 1999 merger with Atlanta-based Weeks Realty Corp. Robinson was at Weeks Realty since 1994.

Robinson will head Codina's new development services group, going head-to-head with Duke-Weeks' expanded operations in Florida, specifically the Tampa Bay and Orlando markets.

Robinson, a key player in the merger that created Duke-Weeks Realty Corp., will supervise four operating units: Codina Development Corp., C&S Development Inc., Codina Construction Corp. and Codina Consulting Inc.

"By naming the former president of one of the nation's largest publicly traded real estate companies to head our new group, we're communicating to our clients that we're dedicated to greatly expanding the breadth of services that we provide, and that we're committed to South Florida in this changing marketplace," Armando Codina, Codina Group chairman and chief executive officer, says in a prepared statement. "Robinson's experience with both the real estate and financial markets will be an asset to us moving forward."

The company also plans to realign its brokerage and property management companies but did not provide specific details in the prepared statement. "At this time, we're developing additional products to meet all of the real estate needs of our clients," Codina's statement says.

The 49-year-old Robinson has served on the advisory council; is past president of the Georgia chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties; and is active in the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
