Windsor Communities' developer is getting about $18.7 million to construct a 285-unit complex in Arlington. Bardin Greene Apartments is a 20-building, gated community that will feature a swimming pool, clubhouse and volleyball court. Dirt had started flying Jan. 15 on the project, which carries June 15, 2002, completion. Land availability practically in the heart of Arlington's heavy retail area has made the Bardin Road corridor a particular favorite of developers these days.

In Waco, ZZ&Z Properties has secured about $12.9 million for a 216-unit complex that calls for 27 buildings, clubhouse and two swimming pools. Construction on Saddlebrook South Apartments had gotten under way in late January and is scheduled for completion in February 2002.

Both projects have used financing, provided through HUD's 221(d)(3) full insurance Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) program, is for a 40-year term, fully assumable mortgage.
