After the 38 to 11 vote of approval, the bill goes to the House of Representatives within days, where it is expected to pass. Senator Ed Harbison pushed the bill to show that Georgia welcomes and supports e-commerce.
Already a distribution center for the Southeast, the metro area has seen a large influx of companies moving in and building or leasing sizable distribution space for e-commerce fulfillment. Supporters hope the new law, if it passes the House, will draw even more companies to the area and to the rest of the state.
