DETROIT-The Michigan Metro Girl Scout Council of Detroit is planning one of the most ambitious expansion programs in its history at two of the country’s most popular Girl Scout camps. The council will refurbish and expand Camp Inisfree in Howell and Camp Metamora in Metamora Village in Lapeer County.

Board President Anne Sherwood says the funds to refurbish the two camps will come from the sale of two MMGSC camps in Lapeer County (Camp Sherwood) and northern Oakland County (Camp Narrin).

The Boy Scouts of America Tall Pine Area Council purchased Camp Sherwood for an undisclosed sum and the sale of Camp Narrin is near completion.
