Katzoff, an attorney, replaces Vincent Reyes; Killian, an attorney and former AC Transit director, assumed the role vacated by Les Hausrath; Jang takes Frazier Scurry-Scott's seat and Gonzales replaces Anthony Batarse.
Katzoff, a graduate of the University of San Francisco law school, founded the Berkeley law firm Katzoff and Riggs in 1983. He specializes in litigation of construction defect and designer liability.
Killian, a graduate of the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, specializes in real estate law for the Strickland, Haapala law firm.
Jang, a 22-year Oakland resident, owns a local architectural firm. Jang, who serves on the board of the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce and the city's Enhanced Enterprise Community Board, is now working on the conversion of the old Sears Building on Telegraph Avenue.
Gonzales is executive director of the nonprofit Latino Issues Forum, a policy and advocacy group based in San Francisco. A graduate of the Harvard Business School, Gonzales has also worked as chief operating officer for the Spanish Speaking Unity Council and served as executive director of the Oakland YWCA.
