The CA-based company, which develops high-bandwidth silicon solutions for optical networks, entered this area by acquiring Cimaron in March of 1999. This office has since become a substantial part of the company, according to Sarah Furar, associate account executive with the Ardell Group, which manages AMCC's public relations. Furar tells GlobeSt.com that AMCC was interested in staying here because it is a good area to recruit high tech talent.
According to a released statement, however, the company anticipates even further growth and is already looking for its next, larger location. Ram Sudireddy, senior vice president of digital products for AMCC, writes, "We are preparing to outgrow this new location within the next 12 months; we are already searching for potential real estate sites that will enable us to break ground on a full campus for the Digital Products Group later this year." AMCC's other offices on the east coast include offices in Bedford, NH, Chelmsford, MA and Raleigh, NC.
