Ross is opening a 32,628-sf outlet in Douglasville, 25 miles west of Downtown and a 33,400-sf store in Lawrenceville, 35 miles northeast of center city.

Ross plans to add three more stores in the metro area by fall. The California retailer is also going into the Carolinas, and plans to have at least 25 stores in Georgia and the Carolinas in 2001 and 2002, according to the company's news release. Ross expects to have up to 50 stores in the three states by 2004.

The general merchandise stores are typically 30,000 sf to 34,000 sf and are located in strip shopping centers.Ross Stores, which had sales of $2.7 billion in 2000, had 409 stores in 17 states at yearend 2000.
