Hoover's Shutters Two Offices, Consolidates in Austin

AUSTIN-Austin-based Hoover’s Inc. is closing offices in Reston, VA and Linthicum, MD and consolidating its Austin operations.

Hoover’s had acquired Powerize, now know as Hoover’s Media Technologies in August 2000. In May, Hoover’s will relocate its headquarters to the former Butter Krust bakery building across from Highland Mall. “Closing these offices will result in significant expense savings on an ongoing basis,” says Lynn Atchison, Hoover’s CFO. “Our leases at these locations were up shortly; space in the Washington area is quite expensive; and we have plenty of much lower-cost office space at our new corporate headquarters.”
