Insignia Financial Names CEO for Its Asian Subsidiary

NEW YORK CITY-Simon Robinson has been promoted from director of international business of Insignia Financial Group, based here, to chief executive officer of Insignia Brooke, the firm’s Asian subsidiary. He joined Insignia Richard Ellis in the UK in 1979, transferred to the investment agency division 10 years later and in 1993 was named head of investment agency initiatives. In 1999, he moved to New York to work on corporate real estate services and to coordinate cross Atlantic investment business.

In his new position, Robinson will work in Hong Kong. Insignia opened an office in Tokyo earlier this year and says it is considering expanding it activities in that part of the globe where it already has an extensive network of operations.

In an unrelated development, Insignia announced that it has completed its acquisition of Grupo Inmobiliario Inova, a commercial real estate service company based in Mexico City. Founded by Richard Katzman and Edmundo Declementi in 1992, the company has specialized in tenant representation, property acquisition and disposition, asset management and valuation services. Terms were not disclosed.
