DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR-Plans for Central Oregon’s fifth major resort–a 700-unit development on 640 acres between Bend and Redmond–won preliminary approvals this week from a Deschutes County hearings examiner. The site lies about 4 miles south of Redmond on the east side of Highway 97.

High Desert Development Partners of Los Altos, CA, is proposing 420 houses, up to180 condominiums, a 75-to-100-room hotel and a conference center as well as two golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools and equestrian facilities. The group is in the process of acquiring the 11 parcels on which the development would occur.
