The 28-floor hotel, developed by David Taylor of the Tynan Group Inc., will hold a job fair March 8 and 9 to get the 300 workers it needs. So far, the hotel, located at 13th and J streets, has hired roughly 30 people.
The $84 million project included renovation of the historic Public Market building, which became the hotel's restaurants and ballroom. Julia Morgan, who designed the Hearst Castle, designed the Public Market in the 1920s. Located across the street from the Sacramento Convention center, hotel officials hope to attract business travelers and convention attendees.
Based in Santa Barbara, the Tynan Group Inc. is a national real estate development services firm offering site acquisition, land use planning, construction design and management, public affairs and overall project management services.
