Quake-Damaged Bon Marche Reopens Three Floors at Southcenter Mall

RENTON, WA-Though the rest of the mall here has been open, the Bon has been closed since the earthquake due to significant damage to its north and south walls. The basement, first and second floors reopened Sunday.

RENTON, WA-The Bon Marché reopened three of its four floors at Southcenter Mall over the weekend. While the rest of the mall has been open, the Bon store had been closed since the 6.8-magnitude earthquake Feb. 28 seriously damaged the north and south walls of the building.

The company hopes to open the top floor of its store this weekend if earthquake repairs can be completed. It reportedly took workers just a day to clean up the cosmetic damage to the inside of the building, but the damage to the walls was severe enough that they had to be reinforced.
