The New York-based retailer will take a 25,000-sf space at the outdoor center, which stands at Third and Fairfax. FAO Schwarz is planning to open a flagship store, complete with a 25-foot clock tower, in The Grove. The store is scheduled to open in Spring 2002.
The Grove retail project, which is being developed by Caruso Affiliated Holdings, is currently under construction. General contractor Whiting-Turner is building the project, which is slated to open in March 2002. When completed, The Grove will encompass 640,000 sf.
Other Grove tenants include Nordstrom, Banana Republic, Gap, Barnes & Noble, J. Crew, Maggiano's Italian eatery and a 14-screen Pacific Theatres movie complex.
